Simona Wilbi comes from a classical music education as pianist and vocal technique at the Bernstein School of Musical Theater where she starts a collaboration with different bands dealing with different musical genres. At the same time she carries on a solo path as a live performer, building unconventional instruments (metal clothes, toys, blenders, washing machines, xylophones), playing with mainly electronic sounds.
She wins the "performance lab" section at Nightwave, a festival that follows the avant-garde culture of the night, and becomes a protagonist in various festivals and clubs such as Batofar in Paris, Panorama Bar in Berlin, in Poland at the Enzimi Festival and in his neighbouring Bologna at Cassero, Link and Locomotive.
In 2005 she produces the album "Inside me" with an electrotec and minimal house soul edited by Fridge Record. The single "Inside me" is selected by the director Giuseppe Bertolucci asking her to play it live in his last documentary "Segni particolari", chosen and presented at the 60th Venice Film Festival.
At the Hellenic Festival of Athens she presents the performance "Perspective", a live performance characterized by electronic sounds where a sound suit made of metal sheets and triggers is the main instrument and is used both as a percussive part (acoustic) and as an analog instrument connected to other synthesizers. The sound suit is then presented also at Teatro Regio in Turin, during the world conference of architects "Beyond the wall”.
Since 2015 he has been collaborating as sound designer on the RAY WILBI project together with the visual artist Luce Raggi.

Simona Wilbi nasce da una didattica musicale classica come pianista e tecnica vocale alla Bernstein School of Musical Theater dove comincia una collaborazione con diverse band a confronto con diversi generi musicali. Contemporaneamente porta avanti un percorso da solista come live performer, costruendo strumenti non convenzionali (abiti metallici, giocattoli, frullatori, lavatrici, xilofoni), giocando con sonorità prevalentemente elettroniche.
Vince la sezione del “performance lab” al Nightwave, festival che segue le avanguardie della cultura della notte si rende protagonista in diversi festival e club di avanguardia come il Batofar di Parigi, il Panorama Bar a Berlino, in Polonia al Festival Enzimi e nella sua vicina Bologna al Cassero, al Link e al Locomotive.
Nel 2005 produce l’album “Inside me” dall’anima electrotec e minimal house editato dalla Fridge Record. Il singolo “Inside me” viene selezionato dal regista Giuseppe Bertolucci chiedendole di suonarlo dal vivo nel suo ultimo documentario “Segni particolari”, scelto e presentato alla 60 Mostra del Cinema di Venezia.
Presenta all’Hellenic Festival di Atene la performance "Perspective”, live caratterizzato da sonorità elettroniche dove un abito sonoro fatto di lamiere e trigger è lo strumento principale e viene utilizzato sia come parte percussiva (acustica) sia come strumento analogico
collegato ad altri sintetizzatori. L’abito sonoro viene poi presentato anche al Teatro Regio di Torino, durante “Beyond the wall” il convegno mondiale degli architetti.
Dal 2015 collabora come sound designer al progetto RAY WILBI insieme all’artista visiva Luce Raggi.
